THE ULTIMATE FLIP-FLOP
Dan Sullivan just pulled off the most shameless political two-step in Alaska history! The senator voted for the “One Big Beautiful Bill” containing the largest cut to food assistance in American history — then had the nerve to call SNAP a “critical lifeline” for Alaskans!
Talk about having your cake and eating it too — except Sullivan just voted to take the cake away from 70,000 hungry Alaskans who depend on food stamps to survive.
THE ALASKAN BETRAYAL
Here’s the kicker: Sullivan supported brutal work requirements that will devastate Alaska’s unique workforce. Why? Because 20% of Alaskan workers are seasonal — think fishermen, tourism workers, and other Alaskans whose livelihoods depend on Alaska’s natural rhythms.
These hardworking Alaskans will be the first to lose benefits under Sullivan’s cruel new rules, even though they’re doing exactly the kind of work that built Alaska!
THE BLAME GAME
When the heat got too hot, Sullivan tried his favorite trick: blame the Democrats! He claimed he “voted 14 times for SNAP” and accused Senator Schumer of blocking benefits — conveniently forgetting he just voted to gut the entire program.
Sullivan’s spokesperson tried damage control, promising he’d “ensure that paperwork and administrative burdens do not prevent people from accessing safety net programs” — right after he voted to create those exact barriers!
THE HYPOCRISY EXPOSED
The senator even bragged that Alaska “really did well” in the bill and claimed the state was in “good shape” regarding food assistance — while simultaneously supporting the largest food aid cuts in history.
Sullivan can’t have it both ways: either he supports feeding hungry Alaskans, or he supports slashing their benefits. His vote tells the real story.
When 70,000 Alaskans go hungry, at least they’ll know Sullivan thinks Alaska is in “good shape” — just not good enough to deserve food.
